Changing Your Mindset Can Change Your Life

When I was a 14-year old high school freshman, I decided I was tired of being lonely and wanted to have more friends. This was a conscious thought.

Changing my mindset worked and by senior year, besides being elected as a student senator for my class of 1,000 and being involved in more activities than I can list here, I had been nominated to both the homecoming court and the prom court.

Have you ever thought that changing your mindset could change your life?

On Saturday, February 25th, 2017, at 10 am PST, you’ll be able to catch the beginning of an eye-opening event that can change your life.

Best-selling author JJ Virgin has been through her own trials – did you catch the riveting documentary?

Be sure to save your spot at this life-changing training!

Natural Remedy for Sore Throat and Big Tonsils: Hydrogen Peroxide

My son came home from school yesterday complaining of a painful throat and not feeling well. Sure enough, when I peeked into his mouth I could clearly see his hugely swollen tonsils. No wonder his throat hurt!

I took him into a nearby medical clinic for a throat culture to check for Strep Throat and the culture was negative. I wasn’t surprised to discover that what he had was viral rather than bacterial because he did not have a fever or any white spots on his tonsils, which can sometimes be an indicator of a bacterial infection like Strep.

So what do you do when antibiotics are not the answer for painful, swollen tonsils?

A Hydrogen Peroxide Rinse for Tonsil or Mouth Pain

I mixed up a gargle containing 1/2 hydrogen peroxide + 1/2 water + 1 drop DoTerra’s On Guard essential oil blend (or 1 drop tea tree oil).

Doing a gargle with diluted hydrogen peroxide (the 3% solution widely available at local drugstores, etc., not the more powerful food grade solution) can bring amazing results. Gargling with hydrogen peroxide brings oxygen to the outside of the tonsils to directly address any anaerobic viruses or bacteria trying to take up residence there. My son gargled it twice yesterday and was much better this morning when I gave him another cupful to gargle before school.

You can also dilute hydrogen peroxide half-and-half with water to use as a mouth rinse to soothe the pain from swollen cheeks or gums, mouth sores, cold sores, cuts from braces, surgery, or other mouth pain as it has a slightly numbing effect and can ward off infection. As long as you don’t drink it, there are no reasons why a diluted hydrogen peroxide rinse or gargle can’t be used to control mouth pain as frequently as needed.

I also loaded him up with echinicea, vitamin D, vitamin C, and a bunch of immune supporting minerals. Additionally, I gave him some colloidial silver liquid to add silver’s germ killing power.

Finally, I made some garlic tea for him with the goal of knocking the buggers out of his body and restoring him to health.

Vegan (egg-free) and Gluten-free Pancake Recipes

I’m a huge fan of pancakes when living with dietary restrictions.

Forget the traditional wheat pancakes your grandmother made on Sundays for creative versions that may include lentils, chickpeas, or almond flour but are just as fun to eat.

Not only are pancakes filling and satisfying to eat, they are easy to cook, can be made ahead and frozen for convenience, and can double for sandwich bread in a pinch.

Check out these 12 creative gluten-free and egg-free pancake recipes!

Natural Therapies for Traumatic Brain Injury

JJ Virgin’s new documentary about nursing her teenage son back to health after a gruesome hit-and-run accident left him lying in the street for dead is well worth a watch.

JJ Virgin is the New York Times bestselling author of diet and fitness books including her Sugar Impact Diet Cookbook.

Besides the miracle mindset that JJ employs to keep pushing for a recovery in the face of the doctors reporting little to no hope for her son’s survival, she makes use of natural therapies like peppermint essential oils to assist in his recovery from traumatic brain injury.

This week is the grand premier and the movie is free to watch only until February 17th, so carve an hour out of your day to watch this story!

The School Lunch Revolution: Rhonda McCoy in West Virginia

Revenge of the Lunch Lady, ” by Jane Black should be required reading for anyone concerned with the state of the national school lunch program.Revenge of the Lunch Lady by Jane Black

In the words of the esteemed professor Marion Nestle:

This is Jane’s astonishingly well researched account of what happened to school meals in Huntington, West Virginia—after Jamie Oliver left.

Surprise: They got better!

The subtitle explains why: “How an unassuming bureaucrat outsmarted Jamie Oliver and pulled off an honest-to-god miracle in one of America’s unhealthiest cities.”

You’ll be glad you read it. Revenge of the Lunch Lady
