Homemade Toothpaste Recipe

Commercial toothpastes contain everything from food dyes (should toothpaste really be putting blue color on your teeth?), artificial sweeteners (Aspartame in your toothpaste!), and  suspicious chemicals with long names. Salicylates are found in most toothpastes, and even fluoride can be a problem for sensitive people.

Not to mention the non-recylable, chemical-leaching plastic tube it comes in.

Luckily, making your own toothpaste is easy. This homemade toothpaste can be adapted to your taste and sensitivities.

Select the safest ingredients for you to put in this easy recipe for safe toothpaste.

Ingredients
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped, or 1 drop of essential oil of cloves, sweet orange, sandalwood, oil of wintergreen, cinnamon, or oil of your choice
½ teaspoon baking soda, preferable aluminum-free
½ teaspoon starch such as cornstarch, tapioca starch, potato starch, etc.
½ teaspoon oil such as grapeseed oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, etc.

Directions
Place the mint leaves in the water and bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and steep for 20 minutes.  Skip this step if using essential oils.

Meanwhile, mix together the baking soda, starch, and oil, stir until smooth.

Strain the cooled mint tea, or mix 1 drop of essential oil into ¼ cup water, and add the liquid to the baking soda mixture. Bring the mixture to a boil again, stirring until it’s slightly thickened and smooth.

Cool completely and store in an airtight container.

What You Might See From a Parasite Cleanse

Spoiler alert: If you have a weak stomach, you may not want to view the pictures in this post.

Following are some photos sent by my clients of parasites they have found from doing an herbal parasite cleanse and/or a bentonite clay protocol:

These parasites are what one mom found in her toddler's diaper after giving her bentonite clay.

These were found in the stool of a young woman seriously infested with parasites.

Of course, not all parasites are visible to the human eye or live in the digestive tract. Some can live in your heart, brain, spinal fluid, muscles… really, anywhere in the body.

An herbal parasite cleanse is the safest, most effective way to eradicate parasites and their eggs from your body whatever kind they happen to be.

Quick and Easy Candied Nuts Recipe

I always like to offer my food sensitivity clients a sweet treat, and this recipe allows people to use their personal “safe” nuts and “safe” sweetener to make this addictive snack.

Even for those who aren’t dealing with food sensitivity issues, these treats will satisfy the craving for sweets that most of us have without straying from your eating plan.

Gluten-free Quinoa Muffins

A food-sensitivity client asked me to help her create a quinoa muffin recipe that uses ingredients that are all safe for her. I decided to take it a step further and make the recipe more universally-accessible for a variety of sensitivities by writing it to be adaptable to any needs. Use your preferred oil, milk or milk-substitute, eggs or egg-substitute, berries or fruits, etc. and make the recipe your own.

I tested it out this weekend and my kids gobbled up the results. I hope you like them, too.

Miss Paleo Mixes up Gluten-Free Brownies

Sometimes life calls for brownies. If you are gluten-free, that can be challenging to accomplish.brownie_mix

I received a sample of a grain-free and gluten-free brownie from Miss Paleo Mixes and was surprised at how yummy they were.

Miss Paleo Mixes are made with almond meal and contain no refined sugars or additives. They are made with coconut palm sugar, or come sugar-free with pure birch xylitol as a sweetener.

Having a pre-made mix makes it easy to whip up a batch of gluten-free brownies  in the blink of an eye, or in time to bring to school for that class party that your child neglected to mention until the night before.

I recommend keeping a few pouches in your pantry for emergencies like this!
