My son is 20 now and has always had frequent colds, sinusitis, infections and has had 2 nasal surgeries. Recently, his ENT prescribed a nasal rinse with a saline solution using a Neti Pot and antibiotics into the saline solution. He said it hurts if the solution is cold, but if he warms the saline solution to body temp, he can barely feel it going in. Maybe if you tried warming the solution, your son wouldn’t balk so much? Just an idea that I wanted to share. You might also ask your MD for a referral to an ENT and/or get antiobiotics for the rinse. At least that way, it isn’t systemic treatment so there are fewer side effects and better efficacy.
