Hands down the best option for your dogs and cats is to feed a raw homemade food. This is a great article that your readers with pets will appreciate. It lists pet foods from best to worst. http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2010/07/21/13-pet-foods-ranked-from-great-to-disastrous.aspx Sadly most vets advocate some of the worst food for pets.

I am in total agreement with the second paragraph, especially the GMO reference. Grains are bad enough, but if you coupled that with the fact that they’re also GM’d, watch out! Recent studies have very much concluded that GM foods are dangerous, but do we even think about them being in our pet’s food? Our pets are smaller and have a shorter life span than we, so it would seem logical that they would show susceptibility to GMO much sooner than us and to a greater degree. I have a nine year old black lab and am very careful regarding his diet. At least three times a week he gets plenty of B vitamins in the form of either chicken or calves liver. Makes him feel special.
